Sun 5 May - Hoka Runaway Sydney Half Mara
The first of many huge Sydney based races this year, join us to run or to cheer (or to do both!) at the Hoka Runaway weekend. If you don’t run, you cheer! Last year we went for the full-send and we’ll be repeating it this year with:
Saturday morn shakeout and bib collect
Sunday morn: Our biggest cheer point of the year with megaphone, music, drinks, snacks. Situated near ABC pool/Mrs Macq Chair, both for those not running and those running to join as they finish.
Sunday arvo: Post-race celebrations at a pub
6 & 7 July - Gold Coast Marathon
The fabled flattest and fastest race of the year - we’ve got a massive crew heading up to the Gold Coast this year once again. Touch wood the majority of us end up flying instead of driving there this year though #Jetstar #Pelican #Neverforget
Recap - Canberra Marathon
As we do every year, KXTC descended upon the capital in full force for this year’s edition of the Canberra Marathon. There were shakeouts, there were carbs, there were PBs.
Special shoutout to a miss Libby Newton who finished as the 10th (TENTH!!!) female and 5th in her category.
Recap - Women in Motion
KXTC and FEMMI teamed up for an inspirational and educational evening which started with a 5k run and ended with a panel talk at Canva by Femmi co-founder Lydia O’Donnel and Femmi Endocrinologist Dr. Izzy Smith.
Despite the rain, a massive crowd, both male and female, turned out to run over from the Coke sign to Canva HQ in Surry Hills where warm towels and warmer faces awaited.
Lydia and Dr Izzy then took the stage with an enlightening talk which showed us just how much we have left to learn about how the female body differs from men in terms of training. As we increasingly see more and more women getting involved in running, it was encouraging to see the men of KXTC turn out in full force as well to gain a better understanding of their female counterparts.
A massive thank you to Canva for letting us use the space, Lydia and Dr. Izzy for making time in their busy schedules, and of course the indomitable Grace Wearne for orchestrating the evening.
Recap - Run, Drink, Run
We got a bit silly on Easter Sunday as a bunch of us took to the Inner West Ale Trail and meandered our way from brewery to brewery around Marrickville.
Highlights include but were not limited to:
The Crafty Cruzers taking home bragging rights for breaking the trivia tie-break with the evening’s best joke. #IYKYK
Running interval splits between breweries. #progressive
Sheena ordering an 8.5% pint that she thought was $8.50. #rip
Recap - London Marathon Screening
On the 21st of April, KXTC + friends gathered at Blank Gallery in Haymarket to tune into the London Marathon. We had a couple of legends - Ben Vincent and James Pham - flying the flag at the race, plus a few familiar faces from home dotted along the lively course to cheer them on.

This took part during the Buddies of Blank exhibition which is running until the 3rd of June, celebrating 1 year of Blank Gallery.
